Councillors call for limit cut

Two councillors have renewed calls for a speed limit to be reduced.

Coun Mark Le Sage and Coun David Ashby want to see the entirety of the Cowbit Road in Spalding made in to a 40mph zone.

Currently the section outside the development area to Applegreen service station is 60mph.

“I stood up in the planning meeting at the development of the site opposite Applegreen saying that this junction at that speed is fatality waiting to happen,” Coun Le Sage said. “Dave and I have now approached the new county council in the hope that it will re-look at their previous decision that 60mph is a safe speed for that stretch of the road.”
