Cook serves up a winning starter

Holbeach United made a winning start to their pre-season as new coach Chris Carter watched his side win 1-0 at Wisbech Town on Tuesday night.

A Ryan Cook goal was enough to give the Thurlow Nunn Division One North side the win over opposition from a higher league.
It comes as the Tigers learned they will start the new season with two away games.
The league opens on Saturday, July 27 when Holbeach travel to Suffolk side Needham Market.
The following Tuesday (July 30) they then visit Norfolk to take on Swaffham Town.
Both sides finished in the bottom three last time around.
The Tigers are then in action at Carter’s Park on Saturday, August 3 when last season’s runners-up Framlingham Town are the visitors.
As well as Cook, other players Holbeach have announced as retaining include Sam Harris, John Yambasu, Luke Nicholson, Harvey Thorne, Josh Ling, Ben Greenacre, Sam Carter, Kyle Compton and Brad Waters.
The TIgers have also signed forward Kelvin Ibeneme who was at their new divisional rivals Pinchbeck United last season.
Holbeach’s next two friendlies are at home with Downham Town the opponents in a 2pm kick off on Saturday (July 13) before Boston United visit on Wednesday, July 17 in a 7.30pm kick off at Carter’s Park.
