A man behind convoys during the pandemic lockdown showing support for the NHS is hoping to bring the same spirit to a new fundraising fun day.
Barry Disdel is putting on the Wheels 4 Fun day this Saturday (August 17) at the Fun Farm field in Weston to raise funds for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
There will be a host of trucks and tractors on show, many of which took part in the convoys to local hospitals organised in 2020 to show support for health workers.
There will also be remote controlled vehicles on display, games, stalls and entertainment throughout the day from 10am to 5pm.
“It should be a really good day,” said Barry.
“I did the van runs during the lockdowns that were really successful and a lot of those involved in that will be coming along.
“This time we’ll be raising money for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
“It’s a fantastic service that needs to be in the air around here as you never know when you might need it.
“I’m hoping to raise around £2,500 for it.
“We’re hoping to make it a yearly event and this is just the start.”
Entry is £2 for adults and free for children under 16.
