Close race on old road to Baston

Tuesday saw roadworks on Spalding Cycling Club’s regular ten-mile course so the event was run on the alternative out and back course on the old road to Baston.
A smaller field of 12 took on the course, with Frazer Wallis leading home Chris Ward by a slender 11 seconds and a first podium of the year for ever improving Matt Chappell.
Kieran Buffham continued his domination of the road bike category finishing an impressive fourth overall beating many of the faster machines.
Fifth to ninth were split by only 65 seconds.
Andy Bowser triumphed followed closely by Loz Staples, William Horsepool of Wisbech and Mark Hills and Dan Warner separated by only one second in eighth and ninth.
