Social group Spotless Spalding is calling for more volunteers as it prepares to take part in the Clean for The Queen weekend.
The group, which attracts people of all ages, meets on the last Saturday each month to litter pick. The next purge is at St Paul’s park on Saturday, February 27, at 4pm.
Spotless Spalding is taking part in the national campaign from March 4-6 to tidy towns ahead of The Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations.
Group founder Coun Jack McLean said the litter pick on March 5 would be followed by a free lunch for volunteers.
He added: “I do appreciate that it is not for everyone but my hope is that new people will come forward in order to celebrate this unique occasion. If we had a couple of local groups, clubs or even business to take part then we could make a vastly greater impact in the community.”
