Citizen of the Year awards need entries

The search is on for Moulton’s Citizen of the Year 2018 – but it could be the last time the awards are held unless more people take part.

Only three nominations were made across the parishes last year, and if the situation doesn’t improve, the contest could finish this year.

The parish council annually recognises those from the parish who make a significant difference to the community.

It is currently on the lookout for its Citizen of 2018 and wants nominations for residents in the parish to receive the accolade.

A spokesman for Moulton Parish Council, said: “A lot of effort goes into this each year and we said that if numbers weren’t improved this time that it would be the last time. It costs money to organise as well.

“We look for an inspirational role model for the community showing leadership, innovation and creativity.

“They could be involved in the community or on a voluntary basis.

“Perhaps someone knows of a resident who has significant achievements as an individual or as part of a group.

“If yes we’d like you to nominate them for Moulton Citizen of the Year 2018.”

All nominations must be received by Friday, March 17 and nominees must live in the parish of Moulton.

The three most outstanding nominees as decided by a selection panel will be invited to an awards evening due to be held on April 10 where the winner will be announced.

Nomination forms can be requested and emailed back to mail [email protected]

Collection boxes to post forms are inside Moulton Post Office, Moulton Chapel Post Office and can also be posted through the letter box of Moulton Seas End Village Hall.

Alternatively post to Mrs Carol Mackenzie, Clerk, c/o Chimney Farm House, Tongue End, Spalding, PE11 3JN.
