Christmas is coming to town

Spalding’s celebration to switch on the Christmas lights is taking place on Friday, November 29, from 5pm.

The South Holland District Council event promises a host of craft and food stalls alongside family entertainment.
Tinkerbell and Buddy the Elf will be taking part while Santa will be in his grotto at Calthrops Solicitors, something that’s been organised by council chair Andrew Woolf.
Other entertainment will include the cast of the South Holland Centre’s panto Snow White, the Spalding Ukulele Orchestra and the Rock School Bus.
The lights are due to be switched on at 7.30pm.
Coun Gary Taylor, portfolio holder for community development including events, said: “We are thrilled to bring the community together for this wonderful celebration.
“Christmas in Spalding is always a special time, and this year promises to be even more magical with a fantastic line-up of activities and entertainment.
“We look forward to seeing everyone there and making this a memorable holiday season for all.”
“In addition to the main event, Seasonal Saturdays will take place at the Market every Saturday in December (7, 14, and 21).
These Saturdays will feature free face painting, musical entertainment, a free Christmas craft making stall, seasonal games, brass bands, and roaming street entertainment.”
