Christmas fair for Action Medical Research moves to larger Springfields hall

A charity Christmas gift fair has become so popular that it has moved to a larger hall.

The Spalding Committee of Action Medical Research is holding its 12th annual event at Springfields Event Centre.
This year’s fair – on Monday, November 10 (2pm-9pm) and Tuesday, November 11 (9am-4pm) – will have around 60 stalls.
That has meant, for the first time, the fair will be held in Springfields’ largest hall.

Event organiser Petronella Keeling said: “There’s always a really friendly atmosphere at the fair, with lots of great stalls offering a wide range of Christmas gifts, as well as plenty of treats for those of us doing the buying!
“It’s a wonderful opportunity to get into the Christmas spirit with family and friends while helping raise funds for Action Medical Research at the same time.”

To add to the festive feel, the committee is organising a drinks reception on the Monday evening, complete with canapés and ‘fizz’.
For Tuesday visitors, there’s a show over lunch featuring fashion from the stalls and full afternoon tea.
Tickets for the drinks party and afternoon tea must be booked in advance – go to www.facebook.com/SpaldingAMRChristmasGiftFair to find out how to apply.
Entry to the fair is £2. For children under 14 and anyone with a Springfields VIP card, entry is free. Free parking.

Money raised from the event will help fund medical research into conditions affecting babies and children.
Action Medical Research is currently funding work around stillbirth, epilepsy, meningitis, cerebral palsy and brain cancer, as well as some rare and distressing conditions that severely affect children.
