Chosen still helping out

Despite coronavirus and only having one shop open – the Chosen charity has raised thousands of pounds this year.

The Holbeach-based charity has given more than £18,000 to local good causes so far.

The charity has moved shops, only had one open and was hit by lockdown restrictions.

But it hopes to re-open its Fleet Street shop as a Christmas shop in the very near future.

And from Monday there is a change in how donations can be made.

Items can be given to both shops during their opening hours. The Fleet Street shop team will ask you to take your donations to the back door.

The High Street shop, which is currently open, will direct donors to take goods to the rear of the shop. This can be accessed via the alley between numbers five and seven in the High Street.

“We are making these changes to enable the safe re-opening of our Fleet Street shop and to keep within guidelines,” says a notice from Chosen.

The charity recently donated money to a First Responder team and members visited the store to give a demonstration of the lifting equipment they bought as a result.
