Children at a South Holland nursery have excellent foundations and exemplary behaviour, according to a recent Ofsted report.
Staff at Sunflower Lodge, Pinchbeck, use high-quality teaching methods to ensure the children benefit and make exceptional progress.
“Both managers demonstrate a lifelong commitment and passion to securing the best outcomes for all children,” says the report, which is due to be published Friday.
“Calm and relaxing music plays quietly in the background as children develop and learn. Children’s wellbeing and their emotional safety are at the heart of their positive relationships with staff and a skilfully designed environment,” adds the inspector Charlotte Whalley.
The nursery was rated as outstanding in four key criteria; quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management.
“Children are making exceptional progress in their learning and development,” added the report.
“All children are becoming confident communicators. Staff provide a language-rich environment. They frequently use books to introduce new words and have high aspirations for children to build their vocabulary.
“Staff have embedded a culture of respect in the nursery, which is shaping admirable qualities in children’s character from a young age,” says the inspection report.
Managers Lisa Oddie and Becky Evans are highlighted for tireless work and initiatives including hiring a swimming pool so older children can learn water safety.
“We are just blown away by the report,” said Becky.
The report said: “Both managers demonstrate a lifelong commitment and passion to securing the best outcomes for all children. This starts with investment in staff development. Each staff member has a unique learning and development plan.”
Sunflower Lodge, which has 21 staff members and 82 places, has been running for 12 years.
