Charity the big winner at well-attended Tydd St Giles Golf Club event

Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s annual Open Charity Golf Day attracted 120 players – and raised an amazing four-figure sum.

Those in attendance took part in a Team fourball Stableford competition, with Wensum Valley’s Tony Stuart, Trevor Bevan, Mike Stevens and Stu Watson emerging victorious on 141 points.

The runners-up were Dave Thompson, Steve Thompson, Tim Boldero, and Neil Williams (Middleton Hall GC) with 136 points, with the Tydd team of Russell Doy, Mike

Parker, Dennis Savory, and Brian Newby taking third spot with 127 points.

The big winner on the day was the East Anglian Air Ambulance, who received £1,351 thanks to the Roy Pesterfield-organised event.

Prizes: Nearest to the pin (4th) – Kevin Goude; (8th) – Brian Newby; (11th) – John Dodson (16th) – Jim Holland.
