Three charities have had their coffers boosted thanks to the good will of people in South Holland.

A cheque for £1,700 was presented to the Lincolnshire and Nottingham Air Ambulance by Les Ward at the WI Hall in Holbeach.

The money was raised through regular bingo sessions.

The local branch of the Caledonian Society also made a donation to the air ambulance.

They presented a cheque for £100 to the charity at their annual ceilidh.

A donation of £250 was made to Pennygate Foundation by Spalding and District Ladies Circle.

The money raised will help supply vulnerable people in the area with hot food, as well as offering support for carers and improving other services.

Pennygate Foundation held a community Christmas Day lunch for those who would have been alone.

They enjoyed good company, along with crackers, a few traditional games, some carols and a visit from Santa.
