Chance to learn something new

Transported, in partnership with the artsNK aerial dance programme for Lincolnshire and the South Holland Centre, is bringing aerial dance classes to South Holland.

After running well received aerial classes as part of circus skills workshops in Boston in 2015, and with artsNK seeing how popular sessions have been in North Hykeham, it was decided to look into offering regular classes in south Lincolnshire.

Lauren Williams, aerial dance teacher, said: “It’s really exciting to see aerial classes coming to the area, offering a new opportunity to local people. It’s a fantastic way to keep fit and explore the capabilities of your body, often finding you can do more than you ever thought possible.

“I’m really looking forward to working with a new class and hope participants come ready to try something new!”

Aerial classes teach participants to “dance in the air”, using silks and hoops. A new and unusual way to keep fit, working to create poses off the ground improves core strength and flexibility, as well as general fitness levels.

The classes are suitable for age 12 upwards, and are running on Tuesdays until July 12, 6.30pm to 8pm. The cost is £6. Booking is essential on 01775 764777 or online at www.southhollandcentre.co.uk
