Ceremony marks council chairman

The annual civic service to mark the chairman of South Holland District Council took place last week.
Dignitaries and members of local groups, Brownies and cadets joined current chairman Coun Jan Whitbourn at St Mary and St Nicolas Church for the ceremony presided over by Fr Rob Parker-McGee.
Coun Whitbourn said: “It has been a privilege and an honour to serve as chairlady of South Holland District Council, a position I would never have believed possible and I would like to take this time to thank everyone who gave me this opportunity.
“The service gave us a chance to pause, reflect and recognise the people and organisations who help to make our community what it is – caring, resilient and full of generosity.“
