Celebrations roll on for wheel

The Spalding branch of the Inner Wheel Club has celebrated its 70th and the organisation’s 100th anniversaries.

The international women’s group was initially formed by the wives of Rotarians in Manchester in 1923, with the Spalding branch forming just over 30 years later.
To mark both milestones, members invited others from the club to join them at Spalding Golf Club for a special lunch and talk.
A spokesman for the group said: “Local musician Mark Haley was the main guest and not only did he give a talk about his life in the music industry but he also entertained us with his guitar.”
To celebrate the Inner Wheel centenary club members collected 100 cans of different foods which are all being donated to the Agape food bank.

Meetings take place on the second Thursday of the month at 2pm at Welland Yacht Club.
