Celebrations for WI branch

Tollgate WI members in Spalding celebrated its 46th birthday at their most recent meeting.

Yvonne Achurch, treasurer, and Rachel Dawson, president, invited all newer members to sign the WI tablecloth for posterity.

Carrie Morris, from the Lavender Pot Nursery and Pottery, spoke about the development of her business.

Despite many setbacks over a number of years, Carrie now has a thriving lavender nursery and pottery and a wealth of knowledge and experience.

A spokesman said: “It was a great afternoon enjoyed by all.”

Tollgate WI’s next meeting will be on Tuesday, August 19 from 2pm to 4pm at the Castle Outdoor Bowls Pavilion on Albion Street.

Visitors and new members are welcome and it’s free of charge for the first two meetings.
