Captain is so charitable

Outgoing Tydd St Giles Golf Club ladies captain Maria Taylor-Vassall marked the end of her successful tenure with a generous charitable donation.

She handed over a cheque for £2,400 to Paul Gibbons, of Dementia UK, from funds raised over the course of her captaincy year through a variety of events with the support of club members.

The captain expressed her gratitude, highlighting the kindness and community spirit shown throughout the year.

The donation will go towards supporting the vital work carried out by Dementia UK, helping families affected by dementia receive specialist care and guidance.

* Tydd Seniors beat Heacham Manor GC 7-0 in a recent match witnessed by guests of honour captain Jason Farmers and Steve Skoulding.

* Sutton Bridge Seniors’ were 4-1 winners on a hot breezy day at Ryston Park, with the course set up for good scoring. Andy Parks and John Pawsey were the only pair to lose their game, two down.
