Cancer sufferer’s mum raises £2,205 for Pilgrim chemo suite

A mammoth fundraising effort by a mum whose daughter has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment at Boston’s Pilgrim Hospital for two years paid off handsomely.

The Christmas fair held at Janet Pell’s bungalow in Broadgate, Weston Hills raised £2,205.

Mrs Pell, mum to cancer sufferer Mandy Beecham, made 221 phone calls to local businesses seeking raffle prizes. She said: “It was a lot of hard work but worth it.”
