Calls for safety measures at a junction have been renewed after a collision there.

South Holland district councillor Jan Whitbourn claims there have been 34 collisions since the end of 2022 at the junction of Clay Lake Bank, Old Fendike Road, Fulney Drove and Mill Drove, just outside Weston Hills.

Ambulance and police attended the latest incident shortly after 3.30pm on Tuesday (August 20).
It involved two vehicles, one of which ended up in a ditch.
Police said no serious injuries were reported, although at least two people had to be taken to hospital as a result.
Coun Whitbourn said that she and Coun Anthony Casson had previously had MP Sir John Hayes and Lincolnshire County Council’s executive member of Highways Richard Davies to the junction.
“There have been so many collisions there,” she said. “At least 34 that we councillors know about since the end of 2022.
“Somebody’s going to get killed there soon so we have to do something about it.
“It’s virtually a blind bend that people often speed around.
“We’ve tried with Community Speedwatch but it needs safety measures which we’ve spoken about to several people.”
Coun Davies said: “We work with Lincolnshire Rural Safety Partnership in cases like this to assess all accident blackspots and, where possible we do what we can.”
