Call for district to scrub up

The call has gone out for more donations of materials to make scrubs for healthcare workers.

Ella’s Project has been providing them as created by the Spalding branch of the For the Love of Scrubs and other needed items throughout the pandemic.

The project is now again seeing an increase in the need for scrubs as cases of COVID-19 continue to rise.

The project is run by healthcare worker Mark Le Sage.

“We’ve continued to provide equipment in the background for key workers but we’re starting to see an increase in requests again,” he said. “We are immediately putting our foot on the gas and asking the people of South Holland to have another look round and see if they have any material that could be made into scrubs.

“We’re very grateful for the amazing donations we’ve had already. We can’t thank people enough.

“But the need for the equipment is rising again.”

The group would especially like any clean quilts, sheets or curtains that they can turn into scrubs as well as thread.

Anybody wishing to donate can drop them off in a grey box being left outside 14 Coronation Close, Spalding, PE11 2JE.
