Brilliant Burton bags his third Welland Yacht Club Frostbite Series victory of season

Paul Burton stormed to his third Frostbite Series win of the season so far at Welland Yacht Club on Sunday.

Race five of the popular series saw another good turnout with 12 boats taking part. Indeed, with 20 boats competing overall the winter series is one of the best attended of the season.

The crowded start line got under way without incident, with everyone eager to make the best of the start to capitalise on position on the water and to get a clear course ahead to enable a good time once handicaps have been applied.

Burton managed to hold onto first from Ros Nickols, with Ivan Hirst third ahead of the paring of Andy Prior and Tom Bell in fourth.

With two races left, only Burton and Nickols are in the frame for overall glory.
