A woman has set up a Facebook page to let others know how bad traffic is around the Cross Keys Bridge in Sutton Bridge.
Angela Warner, of Walpole Cross Keys, set up Sutton Bridge Swing Bridge Traffic Issues and Maintenance.
It’s only been active for a couple of weeks but already has over 2,000 followers with posts daily about how bad the traffic is at that time.
It even includes people regularly posting the activities they’ve been doing amid the stationary traffic including dance moves.
Angela said: “I set up the Sutton Bridge group as a similar group called Tales of the Riverbank was being overwhelmed by traffic posts once the bridge work started.
“There has been a lot of disruption to people’s journeys across the bridge, especially as the workmen have to swing the bridge every day to make sure it works ok with all the scaffolding attached.
“This, as well as the usual swings for letting ships through to Wisbech, has caused long tailbacks at peak times.”
Temporary traffic works are currently in place as Lincolnshire County Council carries out essential maintenance with a host of overnight closures scheduled for May.
The dates that the bridge will be entirely closed to all traffic from 7pm to 7am are: May 3, 4 and 5, May 9, 10 and 11, May 16, 17 and 18 and May 23, 24 and 25.
There is a diversion route in place through A17, A47, Lynn Road, A1101, A17 and vice versa, but it’s around 50 miles long.
The works are scheduled to last until July 1.
