Brewing up support for charity

Morning coffee fans have helped raise £1,400 for the charity that hosts them.

The St Barnabas Coffee Morning runs every Thursday 10am-12pm and is proving a popular place to meet up.

Each week everyone is invited to put some money towards the tea, coffee and biscuits and anything extra is totalled up over the course of a year and donated to the Lincoln-based hospice.

A team of volunteers oversee everything and includes Sandra Tipler, Mo Scantlebury and Chris Aldridge.

Chris began helping out the charity 15 years ago after the death of his wife Mary.

“People come from across South Holland to attend,” said Chris ahead of presenting a cheque to Heather Hall, St Barnabas’ volunteer services co-ordinator.

“I love coming to the groups and particularly here to Pinchbeck.

“Everyone is so lovely and wonderful and they always look after me and each other.

“We are here for people who have had a bereavement or anyone who just needs space from their world for a couple of hours and see some new faces.”
