Brand wins again but it’s tight at the top

After a break in the league last week for the Hereward League it was a return to Spalding ten-mile TT league.

Return to the out and back course for round seven and it was again Dom Brand able to fend off Matt Chappell at the top.

The gap ever tightening between the two, Brand came home in 22:02 and Chappell just 14 seconds behind.

Nigel Swepson reclaimed his podium spot in third with a time of 23:00, which was the closest the top three have been for a fair few weeks.

Josh Dixon is begging to build a handy lead in the Road Bike category, finishing with a 25:45 which was enough for tenth overall, as well as the road bike win.

He led home Spalding stalwart Simon Wright (27:47) and Chris Mooney (28:14) who is continuing to show well in his debut season with Spalding.

Evgeniya Brand once again showed her class winning the women’s category with a 25:51, enough for 11th overall.

Samantha Briffett once again took second (29:17) and Christine Payne third but on her road bike chasing that sub 30-minute time with a 30:44.
