Brand takes trophy

On Tuesday night it was back to the Pode Hole course for the Fisherman’s Trophy for Spalding Cycling Club.
It’s a one-off event where the winner is the rider to get closest to or beat their best time of the season.
A strong easterly wind greeted the riders meaning a slow night.
Dominic Brand took the Fisherman’s Trophy on the night posting the fastest time of 22:55 – 1 minute 47 slower than his season’s best but still the closest.
Jacob Booth put in a sterling effort to finish second in the trophy, only missing out by one second – 1 minute 48 off his season’s best.
Rounding out the podium was Matt Chappell, 1:53 back on his season best.
Next week is the final time trial of the season for the club after another successful season.
