Brand reclaims the top spot

Dom Brand reclaimed the top spot in this week’s Spalding Cycling Club 10-mile time trial.

It was the final regular league 10 of the season before the converted 10-mile championship next week.

Brand came home in a time of 21:43, which was enough to hold off Matt Chappell in second just six seconds adrift.

Nigel Swepson took another impressive third in a 22:40. Jacob Booth got the better of his dad Mark coming home fourth and fifth.

Evgeniya Brand, unbeaten by club members this season, won the ladies’ category with a 25:00 and sixth overall.

Samatha Briffett was second, ahead of Christine Payne in third.

Josh Dixon sealed his road bike league win and eighth overall in a time of 25:11, holding off Connor Wilkinson of Otley (25:47) and new man Harry De St Croix with another impressive ride to round out the podium.
