Boxing Day round up – Stalemate in local derby while Tulips lose away

The honours were shared as the United Counties League Premier Division derby between Pinchbeck and Holbeach Uniteds ended 0-0.

Neither side was able to take any of the few chances at the Sir Halley.

It was also a Boxing Day to forget for Spalding United in the Evo-Stik East Division who instead of a local derby faced a 220 mile round trip to Brighouse.

James Hartley gave the home side a first half lead before Aaron Martyn and Zephaniah Thomas made it 3-0 within 10 minutes of the break.

Kieran Wells made it three goals in three games for the Tulips with 15 minutes left but the game ended 3-1 to the home side.
