Book in to flower festival

Delve into the world of books this weekend at the Whaplode St Mary’s Church Flower Festival.

The theme for this year’s event, which runs from tomorrow (Friday) to Monday (May 26) is ‘Books and Novels –

The Beauty of Words in Bloom’.

The church itself is open every day from 10am to 4pm.

In addition there will be a craft fayre on Bank Holiday Monday plus display by the Whaplode Vintage Train group from 10am to 4pm in nearby Whaplode Village Hall on both Saturday and Sunday.

Entry to all of the events is free.

A spokesman for the church said: “Come and visit the 12th century Norman church in beautiful grounds and view our wonderful display of flower arrangements,

“There will be various stalls, raffle, tours and delicious refreshments.”
