A nine-year-old is looking to raise money for two charities in memory of loved ones.
Bethan Wilson is having her hair cut off for the Teenage Cancer Trust and also raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
It’s the second time she’s donated hair in memory of her auntie Louise Miers (who Bethan called Scooby) who was supported by the Teenage Cancer Trust before her death aged 25 in 2017.
Bethan’s nanny Julie Flowers passed away aged 57 following complications with MS in 2021.
Her mum Emma Wilson said: “Auntie Scooby wore a wig when she first lost her hair after radiotherapy so we know how important wigs are when you’re going through such an upsetting time.
“Julie was always very active and didn’t let anything get in her way but one day the disease took over and it could only be slightly managed by medication.
“There is no cure and not many people know the effects.
“Despite being very poorly for such a long time, Bethan’s ‘Big Nanny’ always had a smile on her face and never complained.
“Your donation will help go towards researching new treatments in the hope that others with MS don’t suffer like Jules did.”
Bethan has already smashed her target of £200 but is looking to raise as much as possible.
“She’s currently at £430 plus gift aid and is absolutely over the moon with the support,” Emma said.
