Pupils at Spalding Grammar School are celebrating a record success at this year’s National Students Arts Exhibition.
The Priory Road school has traditionally enjoyed success at the showpiece event which is held under the patronage of the Royal Society of British Artists.
However, this year they recorded their best-ever achievement with four students – John-Lei Payumo, Tom Beardwell, Delphine McWilliam and Chloe White – all making it through the final selection process.
Shelley Livingstone, the school’s head of art and design, said: “The school’s artists have a great track record for having work selected, exhibited and hung, but this year was the best-ever.
“I understand the importance my students place on receiving external validation for their wonderful skills and amazing effort.

“I am delighted that once again their fabulous work has been acknowledged and celebrated in such a prestigious arena.”
This is the 14th year of the exhibition which features the best young artists in the country displaying their work alongside some of the finest professional artists.
The students, their families and teachers attended the opening of the event at the Mall Galleries, near Trafalgar Square, in London.
The idea of the event is to celebrate gifted and talented students in schools, colleges and academies.
