Below-par Knights slip

A fourth consecutive United Counties League defeat saw Pinchbeck United slip into the bottom half of the Division One table on Saturday.

Two goals in four minutes early in the first half put them on the back foot at Stapleford Town and the match finished 3-0.

The Knights conceded a penalty after 13 minutes and a 30-yard strike soon after made it 2-0. A disappointing performance was completed just after the hour mark when the hosts struck again from a corner.

The visitors misery was compounded when new signing Connor Eyes had to leave the pitch in the first half due to illness.

Knights: Martin, Bodibe (Akyüz), Balding, Melson, Eyes (Keating), Brooks, Stevens (Callaby), Shinn, Slater, Ward, Panton (Makaka). Attendance: 81.
