A top-tier performance saw Pinchbeck United earn a third consecutive draw against United Counties League Division One promotion chasers.
They came within three minutes of taking all three points at home to Staveley Miners’ Welfare on Saturday but had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
Manager Lewis Thorogood said: “It was pleasing to see us put in a spirited and battling performance against a
high-tempo and well organised side.
“We tried to play in the right areas and our goal was deserved. Equally we showed character and put bodies on the line to resist Staveley’s advances until near the end.
“On balance, a draw was fair and it was a good response to six weeks ago when we lost heavily at their place.”
Elliot Foster’s cross set up Flynn Slater to put the Knights ahead after 25 minutes and the pair both came close to doubling the lead five minutes later with near misses.
However, hopes of a win were dashed when Nathan Moss slammed in a late 20-yard drive to level for the Derbyshire side.
Pinchbeck were boosted by the return of Nathan Stevens, Josh Simpson and Ollie Callaby from long-term injuries.
Man of the match was Josh Balding, who put in a superb all-round performance.
