Barry’s welcome return to Holbeach church

All Saints’ Church in Holbeach has welcomed back an old friend as its permanent director of music.

Barry Lancaster was organist and choir master there from 2009 to 2011.

Rev Rosamund Seal said: “Our worship is so much enhanced by the quality of the music and the congregation are so much more confident in their singing when led by a good organist.
“It is also very good to know that Barry is equally at ease with traditional and more modern musical styles.”

Barry has composed a new musical setting of the communion service which he has named the “Holbeach Service” to celebrate his return.
Choir practices now run in church every Friday 7pm-8.15pm and on Sundays 5.30pm-6.15pm prior to the service of Evensong.

Barry has many plans for growing and developing the choir and the musical life of the church and would welcome new members. Anyone interested can contact Barry on 01406 370665, or email [email protected]

The choir has also welcomed back Barry’s wife, Pam, who has already augmented the soprano line.

All Saints is very grateful to Chris Arnold, Richard Diggle, Kim Biggs, David Shepherd and Michael Bland who have helped out so faithfully in the absence of a permanent appointment for the last two years.
