Banister’s champion effort earns victory for Lincoln

The new Crowsons Volkswagen Pinchbeck & District Winter Darts League season got under way on Friday.

Newly promoted Drayman’s Arms B lost 6-3 at Services Club B. Phil Newton hit a 112 checkout and had a 15-dart leg with Kev Newton in the pairs for Drayman.
Lincoln Arms A beat Green Dragon A 5-4, thanks to a last game win by John Charlton over Dan Martin, including a 17-dart leg. Steve Stancer hit a 120 finish for the Lincoln. Dragon’s Scott Williams beat Jimmy Tenno 2-0 with 16 and 17-dart legs.
Ladies’ singles champion Stacey Banister also had a last-match win for Lincoln Arms D over Reece Winkley from Royal Mail Cart to give her side a 5-4 victory. Dan Gent hit a 180 for Lincoln.
In Division B, Green Dragon Z got off to a flying start, beating Consti Club A 8-1. Callum Day starred with a 118 checkout and two 18-dart legs. Jamie Mumby was the sole winner for the Consti, beating Finn Mottram 2-0.
Kirton Leisure also started with an 8-1 win, at Green Dragon C. Mark Sellars hit a 180 in his 2-1 singles win over Phil Hackett. Trent Hutson was the only winner for the Dragon.
New to the league this season, Pinchbeck FC B got a winning start at Consti Club D with a 5-4 success, thanks to a last game win by Gary Brewster against Nick Collins.
Victories by Zac Brown and Graham Amess in the last two games for Lincoln Arms C could not prevent them losing 5-4 at Consti Club Z. Calum Ward hit a 180 for the Consti.
Drayman’s Arms A got their campaign off to a winning start with a 5-4 victory over Services Club A. Carl Worth threw a 180 for Services.
