Balloons released in Spalding to remember those who died in fire

Balloons were let off in the centre of Spalding last week to remember those that had died in a fire in a shopping centre in Russia.

People gathered in Hall Place at 6pm on Wednesday, March 28 to remember the 64 people, including 41 children, who died in a fire in a shopping complex in Kemerovo in Russia on March 25.

People across the world have gathered to release balloons across the world in memory of those that died as a result of the fire that started in a children’s entertainment centre.

Inga Gutmane was one of those who took part.

Inga said: “Everybody feels sorry for this tragedy and most of the victims were children.

“We’re from a number of different nationalities and just wanted to show we cared by joining in this display that people around the world have been taking part in”
