Bakkavor raises cash for dog rehoming centre

A team from Bakkavor’s Central Microbiology Laboratory has raised £850 for Jerry Green Dog Rescue.

The laboratory team, which is based in Holbeach St Marks, rallied together to raise funds through a number of events throughout 2017 including a car wash, plant sale and a lucky dip.

Marianne Daly, senior laboratory technician said: “For such as small team here at the Bakkavor Lab, I’m so proud of the money we have raised for this worthwhile cause. We’re delighted we can help the charity in their work to provide dog welfare and rehoming.”

Jo Hickson, manager of the South Lincolnshire Jerry Green Dog Rescue Centre, based in Algarkirk, said: “The donation will go towards the centre refurbishment, where we are building a new training facility that will incorporate gardens for the dogs to play and Meet&Match rooms where the new owners can meet with the dogs in a controlled, safe and stress-free environment.

“Thank you Bakkavor for all your fantastic support over the years.”
