Bakers raise another serving

Two ladies who bake cakes to raise funds towards another defibrillator for their village.

Pride of South Holland Awards Community Heroes Julie Collins and Lisa Atkinson have raised £15,000 in the last few years and their latest donation has gone towards the second of a planned three defibrillators for Pinchbeck.
Councillors James Avery, Sally Slade and Elizabeth Sneath have also helped purchase the potential life savers through their ward budgets.
James Avery said: “Julie and Lisa are amazing.
“They did the heavy lifting by selling cakes to raise the money, but there was a shortfall in funding, which is where our district designated budgets came in.
“It is vital we have publicly accessible defibrillators easily and visibly located within our communities, although we genuinely hope they need never be used.”
Local electrician Lee Twaddle (LT Electrical) installed the unit on the front of the Church Hall.
Pinchbeck Parish Council also made a donation to ensure three units could be purchased, the third of which remains to be installed once a suitable location is identified.
