Attempted murder charges dropped after no evidence is offered

Two men accused of attempted murder following an alleged shooting in Spalding have had charges against them dropped at Lincoln Crown Court.

Anthony Madine, 20, of Cradge Bank, Spalding, and Junior Titilawo,25, of Aspen Green, Huntingdon, were each accused of the attempted murder of 24-year-old Liam Heffernan.

They were also accused of possession of a prohibited firearm.

Both men pleaded not guilty to each of the charges at a Crown Court hearing earlier this year and they had been due to stand trial in September

But at a hearing today the prosecution offered no evidence against both men on both charges and not guilty verdicts were formally entered

The charges followed an alleged incident in February where the victim was found with gunshot wounds in Boston, but police later said they believed that the incident had occurred in the Spalding area.
