Artists celebrated at exhibition

A week-long art exhibition in Spalding celebrated the work of almost 100 artists from Lincolnshire and its surrounding counties.

Prizes were awarded at the South Holland District Council art event, which shortlisted 89 pieces from the 240 entries.

For a week, the South Holland Centre was transformed into a vibrant, colourful art gallery, with paintings and drawings in all media around the walls and sculptures on display on plinths.

The independent panel of judges chose Kristina Fuller’s Accepting My Fears for the Riverbank Studios Best Newcomer award and awarded her with a £100 prize.

The winner of Best Photography, sponsored by Shutter Hub, is Patryk Majewski for his work It’s Not How I Imagined.

Patryk received a year’s free subscription to Shutter Hub as well as an artist feature in their blog.

Coun Gary Taylor said: “I’m delighted that once again we are able to host this event.

“Last year the depth of vision contained in the artwork was very impressive and this year’s entrants have also aimed to the highest of standards.”
