Free blood tests help potentially save lives in Spalding

A trip to the South Holland Centre last Saturday could have saved two lives and improved many others.

The Rotary Club of South Holland’s Know Your Blood Pressure event saw 142 people attend for free checks as part of the campaign launched by Rotary International and the Stroke Association.

Of the 142 tested, 22 cases were found to be in need of a follow up while two were deemed urgent cases.

Steve Colby of the Rotary Club of South Holland, said: “The number of people who came to visit was very encouraging.

“The number tested was 30 per cent more than last year and we thank all the volunteers who came along to make the day a success.”
