Appeal to help re-home fish

A Pinchbeck man who has seen around 40 of his 400 fish die overnight is appealing for anyone to come forward who may be able to re-home them.

Chris Walder says the water levels have dropped so low at his Seckford Lodge pond that a worryingly large proportion of his carp are dying.

He said: “I think I lost 40 fish last night alone because the water level has dropped so much in these hot conditions.

“I’ve lived at the house for around three years but the pond and the fish have been here much longer than that.

“There’s some expensive fish but I’d rather than give them away than see them die.

“I just wonder if someone will be able to take some off me or have any ideas of what to do.”
