One of 2014’s biggest films swings into town this week as The Amazing Spider Man 2 hits Spalding’s South Holland Centre.
Andrew Garfield returns for his second outing as Spidey/Peter Parker in a sequel that builds on the success of the 2012’s original.
Marvel’s latest super-hero offering picks up pretty much where its predecessor left off, with Parker haunted by the death of his girlfriend’s father – and his subsequent promise to leave Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) alone.
As with the first film, there’s great chemistry between Garfield and Stone, which is to be expected from the off-screen couple.
But this sequel is all about action, with Spidey’s web-slinging travels across New York more aesthetically pleasing than ever before.
It’s Jamie Foxx’s villainous Electro that enjoys the most memorable moments, however.
Created when socially inept Oscorp employee Max Dillon suffers an unfortunate accident, Electo is a bad guy that you’ll find yourself sympathising with.
Also look out for the introduction of Spidey staple Harry Osborn, who is creepily portrayed by Dane DeHaan.
There are cameos from The Green Goblin and Rhino too – plus the biggest plot twist of the franchise’s re-boot so far.
