Air cadets land at fire station

Holbeach Air Cadets took on challenges set by the town’s firefighters recently.

The 2430 (Holbeach) Squadron of the RAF Air Cadets visited the fire station on Wednesday, April 20.

During the evening they learned how Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue mobilise to incidents.

They were given fire safety advice and shown equipment available on front line fire appliances.

Holbeach Fire Crew manager John Kinder said: “At the end of the evening an initiative exercise was devised by two of the Holbeach firefighters which was completed with enthusiasm by the youngsters.”

Holbeach Air Cadets meet on a Wednesday and Friday from 7pm to 9.30pm at their Church Street headquarters.

They can be contacted online or through Facebook for anyone interested in joining.

Cadets and staff praised the time given by the Holbeach firefighters for arranging the visit.
