A wheely brilliant bike bonanza

A Whaplode six-year-old has raised more than £500 for Children In Need by cycling 50 miles.

Ella Higgins, a pupil at Whaplode School, was inspired to take on the charity effort after seeing a boy with cerebral palsy taking part in a variety of fun activities thanks to Children In Need.

She wanted to do something to help others and vowed to ride her bike for at least 50 miles.

It was a feat she achieved in and around the recent half term and led to her raising £510.90.

Ella’s mum Jemma Higgins, said: “Ella loves biking! She kept asking to go out to track more miles and especially enjoyed off road biking!

“We are immensely proud of Ella especially when we watched Children in Need on TV and she said she wanted all the children to have bikes they can ride.”
