A tasty treat for giving Piet

A volunteer has been thanked for their support for local community groups via a package afternoon tea.

Piet Boekestijn, of Spalding, and his wife Ann were given the afternoon tea on Saturday as a thank you for helping so many community groups by Tulip Events mainstay Jan Whitbourn.

As well as helping Jan with some donations, he’s also helped out a number of community groups.

Jan said: “Piet has been a massive help to many volunteer teams and has gone out of his way to help provide as much produce from organisations and delivered where he can.

“He helped me obtain, produce and deliver items and has gone out of his way to help.

“He also got me some bags to put the produce in which is difficult when getting pears, apples, plums etc and not having anything to put them in. “
