A golden anniversary gift

A South Holland couple have helped a hospital trust on their 50th wedding anniversary.

Alan and Veronica Piggins, of Holbeach St Johns, asked for donations for the hospital instead of presents to mark their special date.

They presented a cheque for £550 to the Holbeach and East Elloe Hospital Trust.

Manager Maxine Winch, deputy manager Julia Bobey and finance manager Sue Inns met with the couple to accept their donation.

“On behalf of the council of management, staff and residents I would like to thank Alan and Veronica and their family and friends for thinking of helping others while celebrating their wedding anniversary,” said Maxine.

Holbeach Hospital is currently in the process of expanding in order to provide more beds to the local community.

“The donation will be of great benefit to our residents and the community we serve and enable us to continue to provide the very best care and environment for the people who stay with us,” added Maxine.
