A friendly boost for Knights

Pinchbeck United will have gained confidence, despite a 2-1 defeat at Holbeach United on Tuesday.
The friendly was arranged to bridge a gap in both teams’ fixture lists and saw the Thurlow Nunn League team hit back from behind to earn victory, thanks to goals from Harvey Thorne and Jack Prentice.
However, after recent heavy defeats, Knights manager Lewis Thorogood will have been pleased to see his team stay in contention throughout.
It came ahead of Saturday’s United Counties League trip to Belper United, before Blackstones are the visitors in the Lincs Senior Trophy on Wednesday.
Holbeach, meanwhile, face another blank week due to the vagaries of the Division One North fixture list.
