Five people were making their parkrun debuts at Saturday’s Snowden Field event.
They were among 18 first-timers to the Crowland course, while, at the other extreme, Matthias Thomas and Roger Williams both reached their 200 parkrun milestone. However, even their achievement was dwarfed by Justin Showell, who was completing his 624th event.
The weekly 5K run, jog and walk saw 84 finishers, with 12 recording personal best times and all were helped on their way by a team of 19 volunteers.
First to finish was Robert Jeffrey, in 18mins 17secs, with Werrington Joggers’ Steph Parker the first female across the line, in 21:27.
Debs Norman flew the flag for Spalding-based Halmer Harriers in 39th place, 30:28, exactly two minutes ahead of club colleague Rebecca Pearse.
Further afield, Halmer’s Kathryn Chapman and Jayne Pell recorded 32:28 and 34:06 respectively at Tolka Valley, in Dublin.
Scott Burrell was the week’s fastest, coming home in 20:17 at Ashton Court, Bristol.
