Spalding secondary school rated ‘outstanding’

A Spalding secondary school has been rated ‘outstanding’ in its latest Ofsted inspection.

Spalding High School headteacher Michele Anderson said the school is one of the first mainstream schools in the country to achieve the top rating under the new Education Inspection Framework, which she said is “far more rigorous than the previous system, especially the Quality of Education judgement.”

Speaking to pupils at the Stonegate school, inspectors reported they are “happy and proud to attend the school”.

It continued: “They are exceptionally supportive of one another and their conduct reflects the ethos of the school.”

Mrs Anderson said: “We are delighted these characteristics of our School shone through and were recognised by the inspectors in the final report.”

The report also found that staff “enjoy working at the school and are committed to it” and “know their pupils well”.

Mrs Anderson said: “I am so very proud of the school.

“Our pupils and students are exemplary, our staff and governors are excellent and we have fantastic support from our parent body.

“This report is a testament to the commitment and hard work of everyone involved with Spalding High School and I want to thank them all for their dedication to this very special school.”

“What a wonderful way to enter our centenary year!”
