Moulton Harrox’s bid to win this year’s Lincs FA Junior Cup were dashed by a 4-1 semi-final defeat against Lincoln Moorlands Railway on Saturday.
A Jordan Curtis goal (17) put the away side 1-0 up at the break at Broad Lane, before two quick goals early in the second half from Josh Martin and Josh Raby (pen) put the visitors 3-0 to the good.
There was a brief threat of a comeback when Moulton’s Declan Earth netted 15 minutes from time, but Moorlands – who dumped out Crowland Town in the last eight – grabbed a fourth late on to book a final date with Wyberton.
Meanwhile, Long Sutton Athletic picked up a fine point in the ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division as they held second-placed hosts Peterborough NES 0-0.
It was also 0-0 as rock-bottom Tydd drew with Peterborough Polonia at home.
If those two games were devoid of goals, Stamford Lions’ 6-3 win over Holbeach United Reserves made up for it.
Jordan Elston, Alex Richardson and Jordan Keeble all netted for the Tigers against a Lions team that hit the summit after their victory.
In Division One, Spalding Town remain adrift at the foot after a 3-2 defeat at Kings Cliffe. Aiden Doherty and Brandon O’Rielly got their goals.
Down in Division Two, Long Sutton Reserves were handed a 4-2 home reverse by Leverington Sports Reserves.
Sam Cooper and Lewis Machin netted in defeat for the Magpies.
There was better news for Crowland Town Reserves, though, as they won 3-0 at Stamford Belvedere. Matthew Smith (2) and Chris Winstanley fired them to victory.
Holbeach Sports continue to go great guns in Division Three. They beat Premiair Reserves 6-1 to stay clear at the top with Charlie Parkes (2), James Clark, Michael Bailey, Harvey Wirkowski and Jack Cunningham all scoring.
Tydd Reserves lost 5-2 at Hampton in the same division, while in Division Four Holbeach Bank lost 7-0 to Hampton Sports.
